Besides wearing a mask and insisting others do so around you, the best defense against COVID-19 is to avoid public spaces and gatherings as much as possible. We can run errands on your behalf, such as picking up groceries or prescriptions, walking the dog, taking your pet to the vet, going to the post office, getting takeout food and even shopping for gifts.

Personal assistance services can be purchased as you need them. Aldersgate At Home operates seven days a week; hours vary depending on the individual’s needs. For clients outside the Aldersgate campus, there is a consecutive four-hour minimum. Tell us what you need, and we’ll develop a personalized care plan just for you!

Aldersgate At Home provides a wide variety of convenient services to make your life at home even more comfortable!

  • Grocery shopping and delivery: Sign up for Aldersgate At Home and call us up with your grocery needs. We’ll order the groceries online for you and deliver them to your doorstep.
  • Meals: Preparing, serving and after-dinner cleaning. Our caregivers can assist in making you/you’re loved one their favorite meal! Upon admission, the client’s food preferences will be discussed for anyone who would like meal preparation services.
  • Housekeeping: Finding a companion you can trust is difficult for anyone, but it’s especially challenging for people of advanced age. Aldersgate At Home vets our companions with background checks and satisfaction surveys. Our happy team will make your house shine! Light housekeeping services may include laundry services, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, bed making, etc.
  • Technology Assistance: Households have a lot of technology these days, and sometimes you have a glitch you need help with. Aldersgate At Home’s tech team can help with basic guidance for items like the television remote control, thermostats, smartphone, computer assistance and more. Just give us a call, and we’ll walk you through it. If the problem is more significant, we’ll help you find an IT expert to assist.
  • Dog Walking: While Aldersgate is providing assistance TO YOU, we can also help walk you dog, give them medicine or take them to the vet.
  • Companionship: Sign up for Aldersgate At Home and get access to Aldersgate University, virtual activities and fun and engaging classes. Classes, speakers, book clubs and music events to keep you connected!
  • Engagement: Engagement can take many forms. It can include doing one-on-one projects, such as cooking their favorite meal together or helping them exercise, take daily walks etc. We can also plan social outings that your loved loves to do, including going to lunch, visiting their favorite park or museum, attending church services, or going shopping.
  • Safety Checks: A safety check will include a 15-minute visit with the client. This gives families and the client peace of mind knowing their loved one is happy and healthy (this service is provided to internal clients residing on the Aldersgate campus).
  • Transportation: To and from doctor’s appointments or social events. Caregivers can drive clients to appointments in their personal vehicles, company vehicles, or the client’s vehicle. This will be determined during the admissions process.
  • Errand Services: We’ll take packages to the post office, bring donations to the local charity or pick up items you need. The caregiver can run the errand by themselves or have the client accompany them on errands if they like.

The Aldersgate At Home personal assistance onboarding process is simple!

Personal services include tasks such as grocery delivery, housekeeping, errands and companionship. For clients who are active and are not looking for more complex care services, the onboarding process includes:

  • An Aldersgate At Home Client Care Coordinator will help you complete simple intake forms. We’ll get to know you, your preferences and goals.

  • A service plan is written based on our input conversations and we share that with you to approve in advance. If health services are needed, a registered nurse will be involved.

  • We put the plan into action! Our trained team gets to work making your life easier.

  • At Home’s communications don’t end with onboarding. Oh no, we want to know how we’re doing and will be in touch regularly. After all, we’re building a long-term relationship!
